Geology/History
Red Amethyst is a rare variation of Amethyst. Hematite inclusions give the existing crystal a beautiful red – maroon colour. Some of the prettiest specimens are found in Canada. The Hematite can completely coat the surface of the Amethyst appearing almost painted on.
